Interest and passion in driving Youth participation in building ecosystem force of Cyber Security community in Nigeria
In last 3 – 4 years engaged in Public Cloud Security Initiatives, helping organisations in the their Cloud Adoption Strategy. Architecting solution designs for Securing Cloud migration and workloads, leveraging Cloud native capabilities and 3rd party tooling as part of organisation’s Cloud adoption journey and Software development lifecycle.

Umar is an IT and cybersecurity professional with considerable experience designing and implementing cyber resilient information technology solutions, developing cyber security strategies, and designing and facilitating cybersecurity awareness programs for companies in the public, private, and the security and defense sectors of Nigeria.

 

His core competencies and industry certifications are in the areas of network & security design and implementation, penetration testing & vulnerability management, IT governance and strategy, artificial intelligence & machine learning, cyber risk management, and business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

A member of CSEAN since 2015, Umar has been actively involved in CSEAN’s cybersecurity awareness and advocacy programs in different capacities including as a member of the conference sponsorship committee, facilitator in several cybersecurity awareness programs, and was the Acting Chairman of the Abuja branch from May 2020 – Jun 2022.

Umar’s academic qualifications include B.Eng Electrical & Electronics from University of Maiduguri, M.Sc in Computer Networking from London Metropolitan University, and is currently a Ph.D Researcher at the Ultra-Intelligent Computing and Communications Lab (UCLAB), Chung-Ang University in South Korea with interest in the application of machine learning to build cyber resilient systems.

A passionate selfless seasoned information/cyber security expert with hands on technical experience and management of information security best practice providing effective information security management to large organizations.

He has led the creation of security programs for companies, government agencies possessing in-depth knowledge of security in such diverse security issues as risk assessment management, Vulnerability assessment and penetration test, security policy development, security architecture, infrastructure and perimeter security design, outsource relationship security, offshore development, intellectual property and data leakage prevention, security technology development, business continuity in secure -business design, and information technology auditing.

Olatunji, whose qualifications include a degree in Mathematics is a (Certified Ethical Hacker) (CEH), AlienVault Certified Security Engineer (ACSE) ISO 27001 Lead Auditor cum Implementer, Security Analyst with over 6 years’ industry hands-on and standard based security programs experience.

Presently focused on risk based cyber security program as a senior consultant with consulting companies both local and international.

Olatunji is a member, Board of Trustees of Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria, Executive Director/co-founder of cyber security consulting firm CYBERCODE LTD and Chief Information Security Officer at FINTECH company in Nigeria.

Samaila Atsen Bako is a cybersecurity professional with interests in cybersecurity awareness and culture, digital forensics, internet governance, and leadership. He provides training, consultancy, and advisory services to SMEs and start-ups within and outside Nigeria. He is passionate about volunteering and mentoring, and serves as the Director of Communications at the Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria (CSEAN).
Samaila was listed as an IFSEC Global Influencer in Security 2022, under the cybersecurity professionals category. He holds a masters degree in cybersecurity and management from the University of Warwick in the UK, and multiple certifications including Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), AWS Cloud Practitioner, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Cisco CyberOps, and so on. He is currently enrolled at the University of East London for a Masters degree in Information Security and Digital Forensics.

Olusegun Sunday ALABI fncs|citp is a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and a staunch member of the Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN). Being an astute technocrat in the IT industry with background in Computer Science, Information Technology and Management, he is versed in relevant knowledge with broad experience in IT Projects and Systems Management, User Support, Multimedia Technology, Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies. He is currently the Head of ICT (HICT) at the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) where he has served for over ten (10) years. He had also worked as Programme Executive for Digital Peers International (DPI), a renowned NGO that organizes DIGITEST – an annual ICT camp for children locally and internationally and as Software Specialist for Tritech Computers Limited, a private IT consulting firm in Lagos.

Olusegun graduated in Computer Science from The Polytechnic, Ibadan and obtained his post-graduate diploma in Information Technology from the National Open University of Nigeria. He has also completed his Masters in Information Management with Ahmadu Bello University DLC, Zaria. He is well trained and certified with various IT professional authorities, which include Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Certified Secure Computer User (CSCU), Cyberoam Certified Network & Security Professional (CCNSP), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) in Business Desktop Deployment and SQL Server.

Elizabeth Wuraola Kolade is a Cybersecurity professional. She has been involved in the strategy, creation and implementation of security measures and the delivery of cyber security awareness across critical organizations. Elizabeth has served as an Analyst, Technical Specialist and Advisor over the course of her career across government, the private sector and civil society. She has embarked on numerous campaigns to promote end-user security education in and outside Nigeria. Her interest spans Incident Response, Cyber policy, Cyber Capacity Building, and Cyber Diplomacy, all geared towards enhancing and sustaining international peace and security.

Elizabeth is a Fellow of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and has been a part of several multi-stakeholder engagements on Cyber Security in and outside Africa. She was listed as one of the Top 50 Women in Cybersecurity in Africa in 2020. In 2021, she was named a Global Influencer in the IFSEC Global Awards under the “Security – One to Watch” Category and was soon after nominated for the 2021 Young CISO of the Year Awards. Elizabeth served as a member of the presidential committee, which reviewed and produced Nigeria’s National Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy (NCPS) 2021. She is a long-serving member of the Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria (CSEAN) and remains an ever-avid advocate for the education of women in technology.

I have led senior management leadership practices, service delivery teams, senior stakeholders, and vendors, helping enterprise organisations to meet their business objectives and creating enablers for value propositions.

John Odumesi

John Odumesi

John Odumesi is a cybersecurity professional presently serving with the Office of The National Security Adviser. He has a multi-disciplinary background with a BSc in Sociology from the University of Abuja, a BSc in Computer and Information Systems from Achievers University, Owo, a Master’s degree in Information Science from the University of Ibadan and presently a PhD candidate in Computer Science at the University of Abuja. He has academic articles and book chapters’ publications in reputable academic peer-refereed journals and books, with over one hundred and forty (140) citations from ResearchGate, Google Scholar and Academia citation counts.

John served as The Chairman of the Cyber Secure Nigeria Conference 2019. He is a professional member of the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). His areas of research interest are critical information infrastructure protection, data privacy, cybersecurity education, information security and open source intelligence gathering. He possesses industry-respected information technology and cybersecurity professional certifications which include CCNSP, CCNSA, CEH, ECSA, ITIL, among others.
